Since its official opening at the end of October 2018 and becoming fully operational in April 2019, Istanbul Airport has become a major global transportation hub. The airport, which has hosted more than 200 million passengers in the last five years and is built on a vast area of ​​76.5 square kilometers, has hosted nearly 1.5 million aircraft. Istanbul Airport offers flights to more than 110 countries and more than 350 destinations.

The airport’s increasing importance emphasizes that Istanbul, the largest city in Europe, encompassing both Europe and Asia, has become an important regional transportation hub. In addition to its strategic location, Istanbul Airport continues to draw attention with its commitment to environmental sustainability. The airport, which received the “Level 4” Airport Carbon Accreditation certificate from the Airports Council International Europe (ACI EUROPE) in 2023, continues to be determined to achieve its zero carbon emission targets.
